Trump’s re-election is a disaster for the nation.
He’s promised us violence, retribution and an end to rights, and we expect that he will follow through.
The loss of this election was not what any of us had planned. We’re moving through grief, loss and rage, and we need space to process where we are.
At the same time, though, we need to begin planning for what comes next. Lives are at stake and so is our ability to effectively disrupt, resist, and build community to survive the coming years.
Enter the Dual Power Accelerator, a ten week training program for survival, disruption, solidarity, community and resilience.
Dual Power is a storied form of resistance that involves building parallel systems and communities for survival in the face of widespread oppression. When effectively implemented, Dual Power saves lives, disrupts to create change and builds alternative community-based support as other systems crumble.
Strategies for building Dual Power are a necessary part of the toolkit that we will all need in the second Trump presidency. The Dual Power Accelerator will teach you everything you need to know to build out communities of care and strategies for effective disruption (even when quietly effected) where you live.
With a private, safe online community, ten weeks of online training accessible from anywhere on your own schedule, downloadable workbooks with weekly exercises to assist your planning, two live and recorded calls a week to build community, insight, and live support, and plenty of additional resources to assist on our journey, you’ll leave the Dual Power Accelerator with strategies to face what’s coming next, build dual power in your own community, and with circles of community and care at your disposal.
How does Dual Power Accelerator work?
The course runs for ten weeks, with eight weeks of content, a one week break in the middle of the course for catch-up and contemplation, and a close out call in our final week.
✔️ The program is divided into ten weeks, with eight topic weeks of material, a break for the holidays, and a final wrap up week.
Once the course officially begins (on Wednesday, November 27th), you’ll receive an email notifying you every Wednesday when that week’s content is available inside the course space. Review the training video and complete the exercises at your leisure, and share your takeaways in the course space if you’d like.
As soon as you register, you’ll receive access to our private online community and course space for The Dual Power Accelerator. There, you’ll meet your classmates, access the course training materials and downloadable workbooks on a weekly basis, find resources for the journey, and support each other as we work to heal and rebuild.
✔️ A Virtual Private Community you can access anywhere in the world.
✔️ Live trainings and group support.
The following Monday, we’ll hold two live and recorded support calls on the prior week’s material, on which you’ll receive additional training, listen in as your classmates receive support, and have a chance to get live support yourself from Elizabeth (join whichever call works best for your schedule).
All calls are recorded, and the material and community space will be available to you on an ongoing basis for as long as we continue to run the course.
✔️ Bonus resources to integrate the work.
You’ll also receive access to additional resources such as reading lists and bonuses that will help to assist you in your work throughout the course and beyond.
Here’s what the course contains
The Dual Power Accelerator includes ten weeks of training, with eight modules of material available on a weekly basis that build upon each other as we move toward building strategies for resilience and survival.
Week One: Coming to Grips with Loss
In our first week, we’ll dive deep into the emotional impact of the election loss, including the loss of friends and family members to the cult of Trumpism, the loss of trust in our neighbors, communities and institutions, and how to process those emotions to move forward so we can take action.
Week Two: Narcissism at Scale, and Confrontations with White Supremacist Patriarchy, and Dual Power.
This week, we’ll learn common terms, cycles and vocabulary to explain what we’ve lived through in the past ten years and throughout American history, and prepare for what’s ahead. Here, we’ll cover how we’ve all experienced narcissistic abuse at scale in the Trump era, how white supremacy and patriarchy have enabled and contributed to that abuse, and how cycles of abuse come to an end. We’ll also begin our dive into Dual Power as a strategy for survival and recovery.
Week Three: Setting Boundaries to Carry On
This week, we’ll talk about strategies to protect ourselves emotionally from the challenges ahead, including coping with those in the cult with whom we’re forced to interact, how to engage gray-rocking and boundary setting where needed, and how to protect our peace. We’ll also discuss breaking the trauma bond and dopamine cycles of the Trump era, including responses like hypervigilance, doomscrolling, and rage bait, and how to self-regulate in the face of violence and threat.
Week Four: How to Move Forward in a Destroyed Media Ecosphere
This week, we’ll address how to build community when we’re faced with a lack of safe online space to mobilize, as well as disinformation, propaganda, media outrage farming, compromised social media, and more.
Week Five: Break
Week Six: Building Community for Survival
This week, we’ll learn how to begin building community in support of dual power. We’ll focus particularly on how to structure localized communities of support with mutual aid, caretaking, and survival strategies.
Week Nine: The Way Forward
In the final week of the course, we’ll consider the path forward toward interlocking communities of care nationwide and globally, and how dual power can become a movement of resistance at scale.
Week Seven: Building Community for Disruption
Old strategies of resistance will not work in this coming era. What does disruption look like, be it quiet or loud? How can we make disruption an effective tool against the second era of Trump? This week, we’ll explore in community how dual power can be a mechanism of disruption.
Week Eight: Building Community for Safety
This week, we’ll focus on how dual power systems can be waged to create safety for marginalized and vulnerable people. We’ll talk about specific strategies for safety, including online, and in your own community, as well as how to create safe spaces for those who need protection.
Week Ten: Final Wrap Up
