We’re hiring!

Apply to be on our team as a Marketing Assistant!

Job Overview

WE’RE HIRING A MARKETING ASSISTANT!

The Ripple Effect Institute is looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and data-savvy Marketing Assistant to support our organic content strategy—primarily on YouTube, email, and social media.

This is not a paid ads role.

We are a mission-driven organization focused on building strategic, sustainable social justice leadership. Our work supports individuals who feel called to make a difference—but need the tools, structure, and community to do it effectively.

Our marketing reflects that: grounded, strategic, values-driven, and deeply human.

We’re looking for someone who understands how YouTube works, is comfortable working with data and testing, and can help us continuously improve our content performance while maintaining the integrity of our voice and mission.

This role is part-time to start (5–15 hours/week) with the potential to go full-time, fully remote, with flexible hours—but you must be available on Mondays to support weekly video publishing and performance review. While this is a fractional role, the work itself is meaningful and requires care, attention to detail, and strong alignment with our mission and values.

You’ll report directly to our Operations Director and collaborate closely with our team. This role includes a 90-day trial period to ensure mutual fit.

Applications close: Tuesday, April 21 at 8:00 PM ET

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upload and publish weekly YouTube videos (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags)

  • Run A/B testing on YouTube titles and thumbnails using tools like TubeBuddy

  • Monitor YouTube Studio analytics and track performance trends

  • Train on and use our organized tracking systems for video performance metrics

  • Generate and manage UTM links for social media distribution

  • Track UTM performance and campaign responses in spreadsheets

  • Identify and communicate big-picture insights (what’s working, what’s not, and why)

  • Support optimization of existing video content based on performance data

  • Draft and format email marketing content (relational and conversion-focused), using story lines we provide

  • Draft and repurpose content for social media based on YouTube videos

  • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across platforms

  • Collaborate with the team to refine organic growth strategies over time

  • Proactively identify challenges and bring solutions—not just problems—to the table

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with YouTube Studio and understanding YouTube analytics

  • Familiarity with tools like TubeBuddy (or similar A/B testing tools)

  • Strong understanding of YouTube performance metrics (CTR, watch time, retention, etc.)

  • Experience creating and tracking UTM links and analyzing campaign performance

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for tracking and reporting data

  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights

  • Strong writing skills for email marketing and social media

  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes

  • Strong communication skills with a commitment to integrity, accountability, and emotional intelligence

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, including proposing solutions alongside challenges

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

  • Alignment with progressive values and a genuine interest in social justice and systems change

OUR CULTURE & MISSION

The Ripple Effect Institute exists to support people who feel called to make a difference in the world—especially in times of political and social instability—but don’t yet have the strategy, structure, or support to do so effectively.

We believe:

  • Sustainable impact requires strategy, not just urgency

  • No one builds change alone—community matters

  • Leadership must be grounded in integrity, inclusion, and accountability

  • Our work must actively contribute to safety, dignity, and justice for marginalized communities

We are deeply committed to a culture of:

  • Respect and clear communication

  • Thoughtful problem-solving

  • Accountability with compassion

  • Inclusion and psychological safety

The Ripple Effect Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO). We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all team members feel safe, valued, and supported.

ROLE DETAILS

  • Fractional: 5–15 hours per week to start

  • Remote: Work from anywhere

  • Flexible schedule, with the exception of:

    • Mandatory Monday availability (video publishing + metrics review)

  • Reports to: Operations Director

  • 90-day trial period

LONG-TERM FIT

We’re not looking for someone to simply “fill a role.”

We are looking for someone to become part of the fabric of this organization.

We hire with the intention of building long-term relationships of trust, and we care deeply about finding people who are aligned not just with the work—but with how we work: with integrity, accountability, respect, and a shared commitment to meaningful social change.

The 90-day trial period is designed to ensure that this is a strong mutual fit. When it is, we are committed to growing together over the long term.
