Kara Lynn Joyce is a three-time USA Olympic swimmer and motivational speaker currently living in Denver, CO. Kara competed in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics and won four silver medals while representing Team USA. In 2010, Kara took a chance and moved to Denver, CO to train with Olympic star, Missy Franklin, in an attempt to make her third Olympic Team. Her journey was captured in the film, “Touch the Wall” and continues to inspire thousands of people.
Kara is now retired from competitive swimming and is a highly sought after motivational speaker. She is pursuing a career in broadcasting, focusing on sports and lifestyle. Kara has covered every major national and international swimming event and continues to build her portfolio. She also serves as the Chair of the Executive Leadership Council for Play Like a Girl. Kara’s passion for women’s leadership inspired her to found the LEAD Sports Summit, the first event of its kind that connects teenage female swimmers with strong female mentors and cultivates an environment for empowering young women.
