With twenty years experience in software licensing, contracts, compliance and negotiation, Heather Young leads the team responsible for buying and managing third-party software used at Google.
Prior to joining Google, Heather held a variety of roles at Microsoft, including Global Director of Software Asset Management Programs, where she worked to bring customer perspectives into program and licensing design. She was responsible for the design and worldwide execution of several multi-billion dollar programs during her fifteen year tenure. She is also a U.S. Delegate to ISO helping to develop ITAM Standards, served as Chairman of the Board for Tagvault.org, and was honored as an IAITAM Fellow. She and her team were also selected as the 2017 SAM Project of the Year by the ITAM Review.
A disabled veteran, Heather is fluent in French and earned a 3.99 GPA while serving in the US Army at the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey. A passionate advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion, she is the very proud mother of two amazing young boys with special needs.
