MOVEMENT-FOCUSED
Redefining Leadership. Reenvisioning Systems. Reclaiming Power.
OUR STORY
At The Gaia Leadership Project, leadership isn’t about hierarchy or hollow titles — it’s about transformation rooted in justice, community, and courage.
Founded by Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin, The Gaia Leadership Project is the result of decades of work at the intersection of systemic power, personal healing, and revolutionary leadership.
From its earliest days, we’ve been building a new paradigm: one where leaders — especially those historically excluded from power — rise into influence without burning out, selling out, or going it alone.
We are not just an organization. We are a movement.
A home for visionaries who refuse to replicate the systems they were trained to survive.
A catalyst for those who are ready to lead from purpose — and make liberation possible in their lifetimes.
Since 2011, we’ve supported thousands of leaders around the world so they can lead with authenticity, impact, and joy. Through coaching, training, and strategic guidance, we don’t just develop leaders– we develop the revolutionaries who are shaping what’s next.
Because the future won’t be led by those clinging to the past —
It’s being built by those bold enough to imagine a better future.

OUR EVOLUTION
Every Revolution Has Deep Roots
-
We began as ECM Executive Consulting in 2011, working inside the upper echelons of corporate America. From tech startups to companies in the top five of the Fortune 500, we trained women and diverse talent to lead through hostile, outdated systems — systems not built for their success.
In 2015, we renamed our company The Gaia Leadership Project, signaling a deeper commitment to collective transformation beyond traditional coaching models.
-
In a year of political rupture, our work became a rallying point.
Elizabeth launched ResistanceLive, a daily political broadcast that quickly reached millions — offering real-time analysis, hope, and strategy in the face of authoritarian threats.
The Gaia Leadership Project fully stepped into the political sphere, building programs designed to equip leaders to resist, rebuild, and rise.

Description text goWe expanded rapidly — leading intensive leadership cohorts, trauma-informed trainings, and running two sold-out women’s leadership conferences under the name Gaia Women Lead.
Our clients ranged from grassroots organizers to corporate changemakers, all committed to building liberatory futures.
This wasn’t just growth — it was ignition.es here
-
As national and global crises demanded more from leadership, we evolved.
We sharpened our focus toward liberation-centered leadership — away from performative inclusion and toward deep structural change.
Our programs began to center not just transformation, but strategic power-building rooted in healing and justice.
-
Today, The Gaia Leadership Project is a global home for the leaders our future demands.
Our work trains, equips, and sustains visionary organizers, progressive changemakers, and purpose-driven leaders navigating real-world complexity.
Backed by over a decade of results, we’re still just getting started.

OUR COMMITMENT
1. Liberation First
We believe leadership must dismantle oppression — not make it more palatable.
Our work is explicitly anti-racist, intersectional, and gender-liberatory. Liberation isn’t optional; it’s the foundation.
2. Healing as Power
We lead from wholeness. Our programs are trauma-informed and deeply restorative.
Sustainable change starts with the tools to not just survive this work, but thrive and grow within it.
3. Integrity Without Compromise
We teach leadership rooted in honesty, accountability, and truth.
In a world that rewards posturing, we stand for the real.
4. Community Over Ego
Leadership is not a solo act. We build movements where power is shared, marginalized voices are amplified, and liberation is a collective practice.
5. Courageous Evolution
The world is changing. We evolve on purpose. Questioning, transforming, and rising into leadership that matches the moment.
